2020 SALE UPDATE

The Maritime Beef Testing Society is disappointed to announce that the 47th Annual Maritime Beef Testing Society Breeding Stock Sale scheduled for April 4, 2020 will not take place at the Test Station as with tradition.  Given the current COVID-19 pandemic and the importance to protect the health of the public, the Board has decided to hold the sale online.  Unfortunately, due to several logistical problems, the Board has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Heifer Sale.

To ensure that the online sale goes as smoothly as possible, we have partnered with LiveAuctions to manage the selling of the bulls.  This is the same platform that Balamore Farm will be using on March 21st for their “Thickness Sells Bull and Heifer Sale.”  By using the same platform, we are hoping to make the transition as seamless as possible for buyers who participate in both Sales. Full details on buyer registration will be available shortly by visiting the MBTS Sale page.

The Board has set a minimum bid of $2500 for all bulls in the 2020 sale.

To help with viewing of bulls, the Test Station will remain open to visitors, so long as the comply with the COVID-19 Station Access Policy found on the MBTS Policies page.  We will also be producing longer, sale version videos of the bulls which will be posted online, along with the sale catalogue by March 26, 2020.

For buyers, all existing Sales Terms and Conditions will remain in place- all animals must be paid for via acceptable method prior to the animal being released.  All bulls purchased this year must be paid for and picked up from the Test Station by April 6, 2020, unless other arrangements are made with Kenny in advance.

For anyone who would like to bid via phone, we will offer this service as before.  To register for phone bidding, please contact Brad at 902-897-6742 by April 3, 2020 at noon.
